MSchnitzler2000 Main page - Credits
Here I present my personal film database with the most important data, elaborate summaries and own critics.
Maybe you wonder now which special value my page has, because there are also the famous Internet Movie Database (IMDB) and many articles about films in the encyclopedia Wikipedia. I answer by a comparison of the advantages and problems of the pages.
- The IMDB is presumably the most elaborate source of information. For almost every film there is a list of all involved persons, productions notes, film mistakes and much more. But the giant also has some problems. The main problem (for German speaking users) is the language. Even in the so-called German version only the menu and the headlines really appear in this language. Furthermore the summaries are often quite short and not complete.
- The last mentioned problem does not appear in the Wikipedia, at least in the ideal case because a complete summary not regarding so-called "spoilers" is demanded. There are also no linguistic problems because the Wikipedia speaks all languages. The articles are much closer to my structure.
- So where are the advantages of my page? Here you can find all important information on a single page without a long search. The data is reduced to the essential. So the entries are clearly structured and the content of the film is in the focus. I don't collect the critics from several film pages, but write them myself.
After this speech now some hints for the use of this page.
- If you are looking for information about a certain film, just open this list and choose the appropriate titel from the menu.

- If you are looking for films with certain data, e.g. films with a director or from a year, use the following search form. You can search the complete database, which contains 227 films.

You can combine several categories in your search, e.g. genre, year and length. The columns "gen" and "lg" on the result page are only used for the processing of the form. Just ignore these two columns. The summaries and the critics are not contained in the database because they are too large. If you want to search in these texts, please open the list mentioned above and use the search function of the browser.
