These are in very compact form the facts which accompany me at my job search since a long time and which have not helped me to be successful so far. But maybe you can offer me a job. Perhaps you know someone who is looking for employees. I would be glad to get a chance. In order to give you an impression what qualifies me as a potential employee, I give you a survey of my skills and work samples.

If you can offer me an appropriate job, just give me the information via the form. If the job fits to my wishes and skills, you will get a full application of course, which I send you in written form via post or as an e-mail with attachment.

 Job wanted


The job I wish can clearly be found in journalism. I would prefer to work for the writing press (newspaper, magazine etc.) with connection to the internet. So far my dreams. Due to my experiences on the job search I am totally aware of the fact, that the German job market in 2010 does not offer a free choice, but rather appears deserted and empty.
So I widened my scope already and I am explicitly looking for jobs in other fields. This applies for the choice of the medium (internet, TV, radio) as well as the sector. Offers from neighbouring fields are welcome. For example I could imagine to work in the public relations, advertising and translation.

 Education


After I had found my interest in language and texts in early youth and improved my skills, I got the license to go to university with my Abitur. There I chose a Magister study appropriate to my interests with German philology as the main course and English philology as well as general linguistics as secondary courses. With the Magister certificate I went on job search, but I was not yet successful.

 Skills


During my education at the schools and in two studies at university as well as by my private activities I have acquired a lot of knowledge and skills. What is relevant, depends on the job of course. But I give you a survey here.

Language and journalism
  • I know how language works, in science as well as in everyday use.
  • In school and university, I have learned the foreign languages English, French and Latin. So I can understand and translate texts in these languages. I would like to learn more languages on my own, especially Spanish.
  • In spite of the lack of journalistic work experience I have already written a lot of texts and I feel able to write articles which inform and entertain the reader (take a look at the work samples below).
  • I can search for information, value the relevance and present them in a clear way.
  • Reading several special interest books (e.g. La Roche, Haller) and the magazine Journalist gives me an introspection into the world of journalism.
Internet and computer
  • Beside my personal website I have created several more pages or contributes to their content. So I have got more and more knowledge about HTML, CSS, PHP and XML.
  • I know the most important functions of the Microsoft Office software because I use them every day.
  • The same can be said about software for image editing and some other computer programs.
further knowledge
  • As I read many text of all kinds and intensively use other media, I am confronted with much information which I use to enlarge my general knowledge.
  • The mechanisms of advertising are familiar to me as well as the basics of economy and sociology which I acquired in my second study. I can explain the AIDA model as well as the declaration of intention or the prisoner's dilemma to name just a few expressions.

 Work samples


I like to write text for all possible occasions and I work as press spokesman for the fan club as well as the carnival group. Beside my personal website, on which you are right now, I write my own magazine "Kein Blatt", in which I publish a new collection of texts about one topic at the beginning of every month. I was inspired to this project by my contributions for Jörg Joachim's Burgseekurier. Some time ago, I already wrote articles for the "Köln-Magazin". What I have written especially on the two last-mentioned pages, can be read in the list of my work samples.
